Hanuman (The Monkey God)
Throughout South Asian culture he personifies the qualities of physical strength, bravery, and spiritual devotion.
We will use the teachings of the story of Hanuman to help approach this challenging pose with truth (satya), ahimsa (nonviolence) and asteya (nonstealing).
As the teachings of the Bhagavad-Gita tell us, it is better to perform your own dharma (or in this case asana) imperfectly than to try to perform someone else's!
Very wise words which we will try to remember when the ego tries to takes over!
