Known for it’s non-dogmatic and authentic approach, Yoga Campus is one of the top yoga teacher training courses in the UK. Rebecca has also spent time in India studying Ashtanga Yoga at the Purple Valley Yoga retreat.
About Rebecca
Rebecca has over 20 years of teaching experience in her previous roles as a primary school teacher and subsequently teacher trainer. She only discovered yoga in her thirties and after realising what she'd been missing all those years, has since practiced daily! Rebecca found the physical practice of yoga difficult to begin with as she had not previously done any mobility based sports and, like most people, she wasn't very flexible. It didn't take long, however, to realise that having a bendy body is not what yoga is about - luckily!
Her practice is continually evolving to meet the needs of the present moment, whatever that may be. She has come to accept the limitations of her own body and embrace and celebrate whatever does or doesn't happen each day - both on and off the mat. Her pranayama and meditation practices help to keep this clarity and a little bit of calm in the chaos of family life!
As a teacher she believes in keeping her classes simple and accessible so as many people as possible can also experience the benefits, and joy, of a regular yoga practice.

About Karen
Karen has over 25 years of teaching experience in her previous role as a primary school teacher and as a university tutor and lecturer training the next generation of primary school teachers.
Exercise has always been an important part of Karen’s life, from competing and representing the county in trampolining in her youth to triathlons and long distance cycle events during her adult years. Karen has practiced yoga at various times in her life; more recently yoga has become a way of life using regular home and class based practices to keep her supple, maintain muscle tone and to find balance and mental stability in her hectic lifestyle.
Karen would like to use her life’s’ experiences and yoga training to nurture and bring a sense of community through yoga flow classes and workshops.
Her Vinyasa flows connect postures or asanas (physical movements and poses) through pranayama (breathing techniques) for a transformative and balancing effect. Classes energise, build stamina, flexibility and strength as well as calming through meditation to balance the mind.
Her Prenatal classes use relaxation with pranayama (breathing techniques) and asana (physical movements and poses) to help strengthening the body, relieve common pregnancy and postpartum ailments and to promote mental and physical well-being and balance at this very special time of our lives.
Her Mum and Baby classes offer a lovely combination of specialised postpartum yoga for mums and gentle baby yoga movements for baby. Designed for new mums to bring the body gently back to alignment, recovering strength and tone in a safe way. It is calming and relaxing for babies, helping their reflexes develop and improving awareness of their surroundings whilst bonding with each other.

About Nichola

Alongside her mat-based Pilates practice, Nichola has explored aerial disciplines including hammock, hoop and silks, discovering how playful movement can support well-being and deepen body awareness.
Combining her two passions, Nichola now brings both Aerial Pilates and Aerial Yoga to The Yoga Barn. Her classes focus on core strength, control and flexibility, incorporating supportive use of the hammock and moments of ‘air time’ to create a unique, mindful and engaging movement experience.

Helena Cummings
Yoga Teacher
Qualifications
Level 4 Certificate in Yoga Teaching - British Wheel of Yoga
Thai Yoga Massage
BSc Hons, MSc, NMP
Senior Respiratory Nurse Specialist/ACP
About Helena
Helena (or Helz) is the founder of Freed-OM Yoga and has been teaching yoga for over a decade.
Helz cares deeply about yoga, and understands how it can transform lives!! After losing her Dad at a young age and later experiencing post natal anxieties, Helz discovered yoga and gained remarkable benefit from its healing. She’s since made it her life's work to share that gift of healing with others.
Helz teaches with warmth, intuition and a sprinkle of humour. She provides support and guidance to discover yoga asana in a way that works for you and your body, without judgment or expectation!
British Wheel of Yoga qualified and trained in Thai yoga massage, Helz has spent the past decade teaching classes, workshops and retreats from Yorkshire to Morocco, with plenty of outdoor adventures and SUP yoga along the way. Her classes weave together movement, breathwork, meditation, yoga philosophy and deep rest. Laughter and playfulness are never too far away either!
Alongside yoga, Helz has an established NHS career as a Senior Respiratory Nurse Specialist and Severe Asthma Nurse Lead. Breath naturally connects these two parts of her life. Her clinical work gives her a deep understanding of breath and the body, while years of nursing have shaped the care, compassion and respect for individual difference that she brings to her teaching.
Community is at the heart of what Helz does. She loves the idea of sangha (people coming together through practice) and works hard to create a place where people feel safe, welcome and connected!
Life asks a lot of us …. yoga doesn’t need to demand more. You just need to be given space to arrive and just BE!! Whatever the day, whatever you’re feeling, yoga with Helz will always leave you feeling brighter and stronger! The tools we all need to tackle each day!
