A Mid-Winter Morning Retreat – Saturday 7th February
As winter invites us to slow down and turn inward, this gentle morning retreat offers a precious moment to pause, nurture yourself, and embrace the soft art of wintering. February is a time for warmth, reflection and self-love, and this soothing practice is your invitation to rest, replenish and reconnect with your inner calm at The Yoga Barn.
The morning begins with a guided floating meditation as you lie cocooned inside silk hammocks suspended approximately 40cm from the floor. The silky fabric supports the body in a comforting embrace, encouraging you to soften, surrender and drop into deep rest. This ancient practice, Yoga Nidra (or yogic sleep), allows you to drift into a state of conscious rest where both body and mind can truly let go. No experience is required, only a willingness to receive and be held.
After this nourishing meditation, you’ll remain nestled in your hammock and be immersed in a deeply restorative gong sound bath. Led by Sarah of The Gong Space (Lincolnshire), this 60-minute session offers full sonic immersion with three large gongs. Their soothing vibrations encourage a profound reset of the nervous system, helping you release tension and restore inner balance.
You’ll float out feeling calm, centred and held, wrapped in a sense of renewal and self-love, ready to move through the rest of winter with clarity, softness and ease.
