Restorative Yoga – Relax, Reconnect and Release Friday 7th March & April 4th

Restorative Yoga – Relax, Reconnect and Release

Join us as we create a safe space to relax, reconnect, recharge and to find some inner peace, to allow the hustle and bustle of our daily lives to be released.

We will begin the session with gentle yoga poses and guided breathwork to settle the body, mind and soul; to provide slow movements to encourage the body and mind to begin to release. We will then begin our restorative yoga with a focus on our breath, using props, where we will hold each pose for a little longer. In these passive stretches, the focus is on ease and release. It is a practice of deep relaxation that emphasises the meditative aspect of yoga—the union of body and mind.

The class will allow you to unplug and switch off from the outside world, to unwind and feel more centred.

It gives us a reminder to:

• reconnect and focus on relaxation in a safe, warm space being completely supported, using props and holding poses for a little longer, to feel centred and shift the nervous system to balance.

• gift yourself time to allow the body, mind and soul to stretch, open and release.

• find that ‘ah’ moment and leave the session feeling calm, balanced and centred.

Why should I consider a Restorative Yoga Session:

When your body enters a state of relaxation, your mind can also consciously relax. The only work required during a restorative yoga practice is to pay attention to your breath, become aware of any sensations or thoughts that may arise, and then gently release them.

Similar to other styles of yoga, restorative yoga offers a number of physical and mental health benefits, with the added bonus of promoting deep rest and relaxation, which can itself improve overall well-being.

Restorative yoga helps to combat the physical and mental effects of everyday stress, and eases common ailments such as headaches, backaches, anxiety, and insomnia with the use of restful poses and deep breathing techniques.

• Deeply relaxes the body

• Stills the mind

• Improves capacity for healing and balancing

• Balances the nervous and immune system

• Boosts immunity

• Enhances your mood

• Impacts sleep quality

• Gentle on the body and can reduce pain

Who is the class suitable for:

The practice is perfect for beginners, but also perfect for more advanced yogis who are looking to dive deeper into their conscious awareness. The breath work and slow, calm nature of the class makes it available for people of all ages and walks of life.
